Just this past weekend a few of our members (Julie Cozad - President, Kim Parsons - Secretary, Jessa Gray - Negotiations Table Team, and Stacie Minninger - Public Relations Chair) attended the Arizona Education Association's (AEA) Leaders' Conference at the Wigwam Resort in Phoenix for association planning. Some of the topics that were covered included Communications, Advocacy and Bargaining, and Quality Teaching and Learning. Leaders' Conference is an annual highlight for local association leaders who come together to gain new knowledge on current issues and understand why belonging to the Association makes a difference for students and employees of public schools. Specific skill training gives leaders knowledge and resources to impact the effectiveness of their local association to create awareness and change through organizing and member involvement.
